Jam Mocktail
I ran into this Mocktail on the Savory magazine website and thought, “Hey, what a great idea?” I was thinking that jam would make an easy alternative to muddling fresh or frozen fruit. It seems I was not alone in that thought. However, if you are looking to be conscious of sugar you can substitute 2 tablespoons of fresh or thawed frozen fruit (I like blueberries) for the jam and simply crush them with a muddler or wooden spoon.
2 T of strawberry, mixed berry or apricot jam
½ tsp of lemon juice
Soda water to fill
Add the jam, lemon juice and 2 T of soda water to an empty pint glass. Stir until well combined. Fill glass with crushed ice and top with remaining soda water. Garnish with a strawberry.
