I’ll Fake Manhattan
This sophisticated drink is a bit of a misnomer. I found this in the aforementioned Bartender’s Pocket Guide. While I appreciate its complex taste, I don’t find that it has a lot in common with the rye-based Manhattan as far as flavor.
It is made of items most people have in their kitchens—which makes it easy to concoct. Moreover, this is also a visually appealing drink that looks more like a cocktail than many mocktails. Give it a try, and consider it as an alternative beverage for your next party.
1 ½ oz cranberry juice
1 ½ oz orange juice
4-6 dashed of bitters
¼ oz grenadine
¼ oz of lemon juice
Stir all ingredients over ice in a mixing glass. Then strain into a martini glass and serve up with a twist of lemon peel.
